At Open Fields School, Bharatpur, we follow a structured and student-friendly assessment system designed to promote continuous learning, concept clarity, and academic growth. Our evaluation process includes regular assessments, summative exams, and performance-based monitoring.
The academic year has been divided into 3 terms and each term has a summative assessment: SA1, SA2 & SA3.
The assessment structure for 2026-27 is as below:

Subjects in the Scholastic Areas will be awarded marks and grades in the final Grade Sheet.
Subjects in the Co-scholastic Areas such as Arts & Craft, GK/EVS, Value Education will be awarded marks but only grades will reflect in the final Grade Sheet.
Grades in Scholastic and Co-scholastic Areas will be on the 8-Point Scale:

5 marks in every subject in each SA will be awarded by the respective teacher for homework status of the student i.e. properly done homework, neatness of assigned work and timely submission.
5 marks in every subject in each SA will be awarded by the respective teacher for class participation of the student i.e. timely arrivals, proper uniform and overall behaviour.
Class tests and monthly assessments are conducted for monitoring but are not included in the final Grade Sheet.
As per policy, students up to Grade 8 are not failed, but class repetition may be recommended if required.
Attendance during assessments is mandatory, except in exceptional situations such as certified medical reasons or a family emergency (e.g., bereavement) and must be supported by valid written documentation.
The average score of the appeared assessments will be awarded subject-wise if a student remains absent during the assessment.
In the event that a student does not appear for any assessment, the student will be marked "Passed without Exam" as per the academic policy.
Use of any unfair means during assessments will result in zero marks for the concerned subject. No appeals or requests will be considered, and no grace or average marks will be awarded.
Access to assessment results or the final Grade Sheet may be restricted if any admission-related documents or fees are pending.
